Ever wonder what those beautiful blooms are? This guide is designed to help make ordering simple and give you more options when considering the type of arrangement you’d like.
Budget friendly blooms
Carnations
Readily available year around. Long lasting blooms available in a huge variety of colors.
Alstromeria
Gorgeous lilly type blooms that have good longevity. Available in a good color variety.
Daisies
Available most of the year and can be found in many colors.
Chrysanthemum
Available in many different size, shapes, and colors. Year round availability.
Dianthus
Lovely little blooms in a wide variety of colors. These are available mostly year around.
Tulips
Available during the colder months these cute flowers can be found in many colors. Depending on the time of year the cost can be more moderate, but usually affordable.
Waxflower
Readily available year around and a great way to fill an arrangement with many small blooms. Usually in purple or white varieties.
Hypericum/St. Johns Wort
These little berries are available in many colors and they add cute little pops of color to the design.
Spray Roses
Bundles of blooms per stalk. These small sized roses are more budget friendly than single stemmed roses. Almost always available and they come in a variety of colors.
Moderate - Specialty priced flowers
Rose
Readily available year around. Available in a huge variety of colors. Roses have many varieties and different price points, but they are always beautiful
Gladiolus
Long stems of gorgeous blooms. Usually available in the Spring. A bit more costly, but available in a good color variety.
Calla Lilly
Available most of the year and can be found in many colors. These elegant flowers are a bit more expensive, but they are perfect to add grace to your arrangement.
Lilly
Readily available year around. These have different colors and also different variations (some specialty and some common). The blooms are very fragrant and can be very large.
Hydrangea
These large clusters of blooms are a great way to fill a container and they have a lot of impact. Moderately priced these beautiful blooms come in several colors, most commonly blue, white, or green.
Gerbera Daisy
These large daisies are single stalked blooms available in a variety of colors. Time of year affects pricing, but they are moderately priced and add fun to an arrangement.
Ranunculus
Lovely layered blossoms. Available in many colors and pretty long lasting. These are a bit more costly, but make a gorgeous addition to any design.
Orchid
These delicate and costly flowers are extravagant and beautiful. They range in many forms and varieties.
Dahlia
Layered blooms in a variety of colors. These pricier flowers are gorgeous and can bring a lot to a design. Best in the summer months.
Lisianthus
Gorgeous airy blossoms in several colors.. They have soft floaty petals and add a delicate touch to any arrangement.. These are a moderate cost and provide you with a year round option.
Brunia
These silver berries are elegant and beautiful. With a velvety softness and gorgeous color. These are great as a filler or as the showstopper, but they are quite costly and a little bit doesn’t go a long way. Regardless they are great to add elegance to your specialty arrangement.
Peony
Layered blooms in a variety of colors. These tend to be a bit more costly, but these large blooms can really fill in an arrangement. They are single stemmed blooms and have many layers to every bloom.
Gardenia
Fragrant flowers that are usually bright white with shiny green leaves. Moderately priced and available in spring and summer.
Delphinium
Beautiful tall stalks of multiple flowers usually in a blue or purple hue, but also able to be white or soft pink. Moderate to higher priced and available in spring.
Sunflowers
Large blooms that scream fall. They are, however, available almost year around and are a favorite of many. Moderately priced and very impactful.
Filler Flowers and Greenery
Baby’s Breath
A staple for most arrangements. These inexpensive small sprays of white fill up the design.
Billy Balls
These cute little balls are usually yellow, but are adorable in any fun filled arrangement.
Dusty Miller
A type of green that can compliment a variety of arrangement styles. It’s white coloring is reminiscent of frosty leaves.
Leather Leaf Fern
A staple for lots of arrangement types. A great filler with bright green colors and cost effective.
Eucalyptus
Beautiful stalks with small round leaves. These add to an arrangement and can be used with many styles.
Boxwood
A good filler green with stalks of small leaves. Very cost effective and easy to find year arond
Silver dollar Eucalyptus
Flat and flappy leaves that add a fun feel to an arrangement.
Evergreen
Perfect for the winter season these fragrant sprigs add seasonal charm to holiday designs.
Huckleberry Green
Another great filler green with lots of small little leaves in a nice dark green shade. Affordable and always available.
This list is definitely not exhaustive and many other flowers are available and often used, but these are the most commonly utilized.
